/skin regimen/ is a professional skincare line, sold in spas, retail and online, and marketed to urban millennials. When we spoke to their Director of Marketing, she knew that SEO was a critical component of her media mix and necessary to reach her acquisition goals.

The Challenge

Trouble breaking through in an ultra-competitive niche

Beauty is one of the most competitive online niches, especially as a newer brand. When competing against retailers brands like Sephora, Amazon, Allure, & Ulta it can seem impossible to break through onto the first page.

The /skin regimen/ director of marketing, Hannah Dixon realized that in order to start driving sales online, she needed to find a way to grow brand awareness in this crowded market.

The Solution

A full-scale SEO campaign

We began by performing keyword research to ensure each page on was targeting  relevant search queries used by potential customers. We developed a keyword strategy based on search demand of relevant terms to /skin regimen/’s offerings, and competitiveness.

We applied the keyword strategy to the website by manually optimizing each page on, ensuring all pages optimally targeted high-converting keywords, and that all SEO elements followed Google’s best practices.

In order to rank for these highly competitive keywords, we needed to increase the overall domain authority of the new /skin regimen/ website. We have since launched link-building campaigns that consistently build 15 links per month.
